Hey all, apologies for the gap in posting, I’ve been preparing a few interesting articles for you that I’ll be posting over the weekend.

For starters, take a look at these…

They are new screen from a brand new game that we’ve just started to work on 🙂

Hey all, it’s been a while since our last post so I’ll do a quick round up of what we’ve been playing this week.

First up is Boom Beach from SuperCell – This is a great little game for playing when you have a few minutes to spare.

You build a base, collect resources and raid other peoples bases – simples!

There are different troops and defences and a variety of ways to attack. I’m sure that this will do pretty well – it’s free to play, but very easy to spend real money on.

Next up is Dwarven Den – The Mining Puzzle Game from Backflip Studios – which is free to play and quite good fun.

This is probably the first free to play game I’ve played where I haven’t had to spend any money on it – or felt the need too. You can easily upgrade your gear and progress through the game nicely without having to break the bank.

I’m on level 23 so far and have only failed once on a level, so I’d think that this is either aimed at younger players, or the difficulty ramps up slowly.

The levels take around 5 mins to play if you want to collect all the hidden secrets, but some can be finished a lot quicker – well worth an install, especially good if you want to keep the kids quiet for half an hour 🙂

Finally for this post, I’ve just started to play Hakitzu Elite:Robot Hackers from Kuato Studios. Now the cool thing about this game is that it teaches you how to code Java Script by playing the game.

The tutorials are great and very easy to follow. The step by step approach eases you into coding very nicely with its simple approach. Now, the game itself could look better, but that’s not really the point.

The point is that it interactively guides you into programming your first moves, which you can then see straight away and even take onto multiplayer battles once you get the hang of it. Personally, I’ve never really been one for programming, but this has certainly sparked an interest in me, but for anyone interested in getting into programming, this is a very good place to start. Thanks Kuato!

Baby Nom Nom, is a great new puzzle game from Playrise Digital.

Baby Nom Nom‘s dinner is trapped in the maze, and it’s your job to get it out and feed the little tyke!
The levels start off very simply, and with a few rotations, you’ve got the little monster munching down the rice. Collect the fruit along the way and score a perfect 3 stars.
The levels get increasing more challenging and will leave even the cleverest of you scratching your head – or in our case screaming at the few bits of rice that you missed!
This is a great game for all ages, very entertaining and lots of fun.

Playrise digital are also using some of the profit from the game to support the SOS Children’s Vilages charity, which we think is awesome.

5 out of 5 from us and an extra pat on the back for the charity work! Highly recommended

well done guys

The Last of Us

The Last of Us is a survival horror action-adventure game developed by Naughty Dog and published by Sony Computer Entertainment exclusively for the PlayStation 3.
The player takes control of Joel, who is tasked with crossing a post-apocalyptic United States in 2033. To get Ellie to a friendly resistance group, the Fireflies Joel must take on zombie-like creatures infected with some kind of highly contagious fungus, as well as hostile humans such as resistance groups, hunters and cannibals.
The game requires a good balance of stealth and thought, along with conserving ammunition which is frequently in short supply. It also involves a lot of scavenging. Now, I played through the game on the medium difficulty setting, once through, so I’m not sure whether you always seem to just about have enough ammo, or whether I scavenged enough – but regardless I managed to complete the story without too much difficulty.
The game has already received lots of very high scores like 10 out of 10, and I’m inclined to agree with them. I wasn’t sure at first, but it’s one of the few games recently that I REALLY wanted to finish, which didn’t get ridiculously or annoyingly difficult. I’ve ditched so many games that just became to repetitive or frustrating, so this came as a refreshing change.
The artwork was stunning for PS3 and the story was well written. Everything jelled together in this game. There were a few minor graphical bugs, but no crashes or any problems with the story.
Overall, I’ll join the masses and award it 10 out of 10, not to be one of the crowd, but to congratulate Naughty Dog on a job well done. Great work, well done.
If you’ve not played this yet, you should.

We have now fully tested our 2 new quizzes for our Psycho Loco app.

(In-case you don’t know, Psycho Loco is a quiz that tests how much of a psychopath you are based on the REAL psyche tests that have been used for decades)

First up we have Victim or Loco – it’s our quiz to see if you would survive a horror movie. it has some great questions that hint all all your favorite horror/slasher films.

Next we have Lover or Loco – this one is for all you lovers/stalkers out there. Are you in Love?, Are you head over heels? or are you maniacally obsessed and need help?

We’re just implementing the final tech and we hope to sub these to the iOS and Android stores in the next few days.

If any of you have any ideas about quizzes you’d like to see, drop us a line and we’ll see if our writers can sort something out 🙂

We’ve just had confirmation that Sudoku Logic has cleared QA and is ready to be released in Korea on Samsungs fancy new tablet on Android.

This was a great port to do for us as we integrated Samsung’s fantastic new pen technology into the game making it much more playable.

We like the new ease of play-ability so much, that we’re going to update the iOS version.
